The operating principle is straightforward: the dolly runs directly along the two tubes using polyurethane wheels, providing smooth travel even with more substantial camera builds. The KS-952 features a CNC-machined aluminium platform and a 16-wheel system arranged to maintain stability while reducing vibration and irregularities during movement.
The two 2-metre tubes are supported at each end by Kupo KS-161 track ends. Our kit also includes two additional Kupo 161MB supports positioned between the ends to reduce tube flex and improve overall stability when the camera package or mounted accessories become heavier.
The Kupo KS-833 adaptor incorporates a 100 mm bowl, allowing a compatible professional video head to be mounted. The video head is not included in the kit and must therefore be added separately according to the camera package and the type of work required.
The term “Dana Dolly” originates from the original system developed in the United States and has since become a widely used name on set for this type of portable dolly running on a pair of tubes. The Kupo version follows the same principle, providing a practical solution when a longer linear camera move is required than a conventional slider can offer, without using a full-size cinema dolly.
